Being an integral component of a state college serves as a stepping stone for expanding the Ginhawa Initiatives. I extend my deep gratitude to Dr. Catherine Roween C. Almaden, Dr. Jovelyn G. Delosa, and Dr. Helen E. Maasin, the college executives in 2022, who recognized the potential impact of the program and advocated for its institutionalization with the Board of Trustees. Now, the Initiative is reaching out beyond the institution and local communities, extending its support throughout the Northern Mindanao region.

The Pag-amuma Ginhawa Initiatives (PGI) have 3 core functions: Development of programs, projects, modules, and training, through the Pag-amuma Ginhawa Program (PGP), community engagement and response through the Pag-amuma Ginhawa extension (PGX), and the conduct of research to obtain essential data that can inspire the crafting of data-driven policies.
Through the Pag-amuma Ginhawa Program (PGP), manuals, workbooks, modules, and guides are developed prior to the implementation of an initiative. This includes materials for the Community-Based Ginhawa Response (localized PFA and MHPSS), Ginhawa Stress Regulation, Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, Self-care, Co-regulation, and Personal and Organizational Development.
During training sessions, seminars, or workshops, PGP promotes self-awareness and mindfulness while helping learners manage their stress more effectively. In mindfulness-related programs, participants practice techniques such as meditation and journaling to cope with stress. Additionally, these programs support personal growth and foster a sense of belonging within a caring community. As a result, an environment is created that encourages open conversations and support among members. Grounded in behavioral neuroscience, the program connects scientific principles to everyday life. Ultimately, it empowers individuals to lead balanced and fulfilling lives.
On the other hand, the Pag-amuma Ginhawa Extension (PGX) focuses specifically on building and enhancing community resilience and sustainability. We believe that, through collaboration, communities can achieve sustainable development. To achieve this, PGX offers community-based initiatives that foster trust and intersectoral collaboration. PGX aims to engage with the local communities in addressing prioritized needs, to ensure that the community learn to thrive and develop long-term solutions to social problems.
Meanwhile, the Pag-amuma Ginhawa Research (PGR) initiative enhances the programs and services by ensuring that offerings meet community needs and expectations. To achieve this goal, regular monitoring and evaluation collect data on performance and gather feedback from participants. Additionally, impact analyses assess how the Ginhawa initiatives affect the community as a whole. By using various research methods, it measures the impact on both participants and the broader community. Furthermore, collaboration with different partners fosters innovation and continuous improvement, allowing the initiative to adapt to changing needs. Ultimately, the initiative aims for sustainable change and lasting positive impact for everyone involved.
